Duration

Instructions in 7 steps Prepare the kneading-cement and coat the styrofoam ball with it. To make the concrete apple look like a real apple, insert a piece of twig as a stem into the ball beforehand.
Besides the articles listed below, you also need: Sharp-pointed stick as an apple-stalk, container for kneading of the cement (e.g. bowl with lid), disposable gloves, turntable (item 89 259 00), PET spray bottle (item 38 798 000), brush, small container with water, stable support e.g. the lid of a plastic bucket, poss. sandpaper (item 89 530 00)
And this is how it works:
1

Step 1

Thus the kneading-cement is not too dry, we recommend you to work it out at a room temperature in 2 sections. Always wear plastic gloves while working!
2

Step 2

Mix a half of the cement (500 g) with water in the ratio 9:1 (9 parts of cement : 1 part of water). This corresponds to about 55 ml. Stir the water slowly, gradually add it while constantly kneading. Knead the crumbly mixture with damp disposable gloves (if necessary, moisten several times) until the desired consistency is achieved.

Hint: You can mix also, quickly and easily, the kneading-cement in a sealable container. Here also add the water gradually by stirring it constantly, then close the container and shake it well. That way there is less dust and the parts intermix perfectly. Knead more afterwards the crumbly mixture with wet disposable gloves (if necessary, moisten several times) until the mixture is malleable.

3

Step 3

Insert the sharp-pointed upwards as a stalk onto the styrofoam-ball. Spread out the kneading-cement onto the styrofoam-ball by hands until it is completely coated.
4

Step 4

Now mix the other half of the kneading-cement powder described as above, until the mixture gets smooth.
5

Step 5

Spread out the cement mixture on the coated and still moistened ball by hands and sculpt it apple-shaped. Potentially spread upwards the cement evenly with a slightly moistened brush.
6

Step 6

If the cement is too dry for sculpting, moisten it slightly with the water from the spray bottle.
7

Step 7

Let it dry at least for 1 day. The entire drying period lasts for several days. After about 21 days the object is weatherproof.
