Crepe paper
Everyone is familiar with it from kindergarten and school days. And not without reason: crepe paper is versatile and very easy to process, and therefore indispensable for any basic equipment.
Crepe paper
Crepe paper, also called craft crape paper, is a great, supple paper intended for many creative handicrafts to be done by young and old. Many people recall this special paper from their kindergarten and school time. The crepe paper is very easy to work and craft with and is suitable for a variety of great handicrafts and decorations thanks to its many various colours and texture.
Unlike regular paper with a smooth surface, crepe paper has a finely wrinkled surface texture due to a thin folding or while being coated with sizing (a glue-like substance), which makes it stretchy up to 51%. Thanks to its suppleness, bright cheerful colours and its elasticity, crepe paper is extremely popular with children.
Craft ideas related to crepe paper
Crepe paper is suitable for implementing numerous craft ideas and is available in many bright colours. Whether used as a craft paper in combination with school candy cones, as a fluttering tail for self-made paper kites, as a decorative garland for festive and garden parties, for making colourful paper flowers, crumpled up paper into small balls for making colourful 3D paper pictures and much more - the creative possibilities are endless.
Florist’s crepe paper
Florist's crepe paper, also known as heavy crepe paper, is slightly different from regular crepe paper or craft crape paper. Even though the texture of florist's crepe paper is similar to craft crape paper, it is still much more stretchy (up to 250%) and somewhat stiffer. Florist's crepe paper is particularly popular in the floristry sector and is often used in combination with flowers and plants, as it is waterproof and its colour does not bleed. We all know those pretty crepe paper sleeves to put around flower pots. The florist's crepe paper is also suitable for numerous other creative works.
