Instructions in 15 steps Various knotting techniques, as well as macramé knots, are great for making pretty bracelets. Strung beads and pendants are eye-catching and add a sophisticated touch to friendship bracelets.

And this is how it works:

Bracelet 1

Bracelet 1 - Step 1

Make a braid with 3 strands, each measuring 50 cm.

Bracelet 1 - Step 2

Thread the cloverleaf in the middle of the 70 cm long strand. Then, string one Rocailles bead and make a knot close to the Rocailles bead. String the Rocailles beads and tie knots in turn until all 21 Rocailles beads are strung. Do the same on the other side of the cloverleaf.

Bracelet 1 - Step 3

Insert one end of the braided bracelet and one end of the Rocailles bead bracelet into the connecting part of the clasp for deco cords. Put some glue for jewellery and press together by means of tapered flat-nose pliers, first pressing one side and then the other side by overlapping it. Do the same on the other side of the clasp. Lastly, fasten the lobster clasp using a jump ring.

Bracelet 2

Bracelet 2 - Step 1

Join 3 strands together with a knot. Then, thread a metal spacer bead and secure it in place with a knot. If necessary, apply some glue for jewellery on the knot.

Bracelet 2 - Step 2

Make another knot 4 cm from the first knot. String 9 Delica-Rocailles beads on the thread in the middle, braid and add a Rocailles bead at regular intervals (about every 1.5 cm).

Bracelet 2 - Step 3

Make a knot after a length of about 17 cm. Leave the next 4 cm free, then tie another knot. Then, string the other spacer bead and secure it in place with a knot.

Bracelet 2 - Step 4

Close the bracelet with a macramé sliding knot. To do this, place the bracelet ends side by side. Tie a piece of thread in the middle with a knot, then make several square knots² (about 1.5 cm) with this piece of thread. String a spacer bead on either end of the thread, then tie in a knot.

Bracelet 3

Bracelet 3 - Step 1

Fasten two double-folded cords on either side of the oval decorative element with a lark's head knot¹ in order to get 4 threads.

Bracelet 3 - Step 2

String a disc spacer on each side. Then make 8 half square knots² and string a spacer bead.

Bracelet 3 - Step 3

Lastly, make 10 spiral knots³. Use here the square knot technique - the loop always being placed on the same side. String a disc spacer on, make a knot, string another disc spacer on and make a knot again.
