In order to achieve the trendy crackled look on your items painted with Chalky paint or with other water-based paints, do as follows:
paint the surface with Chalky paint and allow to dry well out, then apply the crackle varnish (a thick layer for coarse cracks, a thin layer for fine cracks) - paint over with a contrasting colour after drying - the paint layer of the contrasting colour cracks and the first paint layer becomes visible through the cracks.
