Instructions in 13 steps If you cast the egg cup with a round magnet sunk into the concrete compound, the egg spoon will stand on the cup later. A true eye-catcher!
Besides the articles listed below, you also need: Pebbles, hot glue
And this is how it works:
1

Step 1

For preparation, stick a piece of magnetic foil centrally on the wooden spatula and place two round magnets on it (one magnet serves as a placeholder, the other remains poured into the egg cup out of cement). So that the egg cup later has a good stand, affix a small coin inside with a drop of hot glue in the wide part of the egg half.
2

Step 2

Then place the plastic egg half on a stable surface (e.g. cup, can or the like) so that it does not wobble and coat the inside of the plastic egg with cooking oil. Fill the plastic ball half with pebbles and coat well its outer side with the cooking oil.
3

Step 3

Then fill the plastic container with about 8 ml of water and pour slowly about 80 g of creative-cement powder. Stir the mixture with a craft wooden stick until an uniform, castable mixture is obtained.
4

Step 4

Pour carefully the casting compound into the prepared plastic egg half up to approx. 8mm to the upper edge. Let the mixture rest for about 15 minutes. Place the prepared plastic ball half approximately at the height of the moulded coin and press it in with light pressure.
5

Step 5

Carefully place the wooden spatula prepared with magnets pointing downwards on the mould’s edge, in front of the pointed part of the egg half. A round magnet must be embedded in the cement.
6

Step 6

Allow it to dry out for about 4 hours. Then carefully remove the wooden stick with a magnet so that only a round magnet remains in the cement and detach the plastic ball from the egg-shaped mould.
7

Step 7

Mix again approx. 30 g (with household sieve) of sieved cement powder with 5 ml of water and stir this mixture with a craft wooden stick until an uniform, castable mixture is obtained.
8

Step 8

Pour the casting compound into the already dried half of the cement-egg so that the embedded magnet is covered. Set the small plastic ball half back again.
9

Step 9

Let it dry out overnight.
10

Step 10

The next day, as a first step, remove the plastic ball half by gently pressing and pulling. The second step will be to demould also the egg out of cement by upturning the casting mould and by careful tapping it onto a base such as crepla or cardboard.
11

Step 11

Allow it to harden. The curing time varies depending on the size and the temperature (at best one to several days).
12

Step 12

Small burrs and irregularities can be quickly & easily grinded with sandpaper.
13

Step 13

The egg cup will get a sophisticated look if you decorate the hollow for the egg with deco-metal. To do this, put the leaf adhesive on the desired surface with a brush, let it dry out and then apply the deco-metal. Press on with a soft brush and carefully wipe away any excess. Finally, if desired, brush it with a protective varnish.
